If you're a student at Pratt Institute and have existing health insurance that meets the university's criteria, you have the option to waive the Pratt Institute Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Waiver Process

1.Select and purchase the $0 Essential Plan or one of our Royal Plans

For Pratt Institute, we selected both the Essential Plan and Royal plans to provide comprehensive and affordable coverage that meet the waiver requirements of your institution.

2.Complete and Submit the Waiver Form

To waive SHIP, visit the Pratt Institute Student Health Insurance Portal. Log in using your Pratt Institute credentials and provide accurate details about your health insurance coverage. Upload images of the front and back of your current medical insurance card and review the information carefully before submitting the form.

3.Confirmation and Verification

Pratt Institute will review your waiver submission to ensure your insurance meets their criteria. If approved, the SHIP fee will be removed from your student account. If there are any issues with your submission, you may be required to provide additional information or clarification.

4.Carry Your Insurance Card

Always carry your existing health insurance card with you. This card is necessary for accessing medical services at Pratt Institute’s Health and Counseling Services and other healthcare facilities in the area.
